Can't seem to locate a city report for this, but it's an 8-storey redevelopment proposal of the existing medical building on Bloor near Royal York Station.

Wow, why is the Kingsway neighbourhood suddenly exploding with mid-rise proposals??

My question is why has it taken so long, particularly near the subway?

Agreed – it's always struck me as weird, how sleepy-small-town the Kingsway feels. Hell, it's even got on-street angle parking! Be great to see this stretch of Bloor get denser.

There's no angled on-street parking on Bloor, just to be clear. I think there may still be some on Brentwood at the library and maybe a couple of other side streets, but there's no suburban feel here, (this is what I call midurban).

I would call it small town main street style, which belongs along a streetcar route, not near a subway station. Anyone know if the proposal includes the parking lot?

Yes, the angled parking is on several side streets, but not on Bloor proper. Sorry to be unclear!

It doesn't feel suburban to me here either, but I do always think it has a small-town main street feel to it. Possibly just because it's always so quiet, compared to just a couple of stops over at Jane, for example. Some quality midrise will be great to see, as long as no one lays a finger on the Kingsway theatre, which is adorable.

Agreed on all points adHom!

The preliminary report has not been posted yet, so I don't know.

Well, it's a bit of a rip-off, yes, but it's definitely done with Tact.

To be honest I dont think this is design is going work well in this neighborhood. I cant put my finger on it- it could potentially be the contrasting colors, but something just seems off with this one.
