This is even worse than the Concord towers with the tacky flower photography printed on the glass.
Having the balcony glass pattern continue to the undersides of the balconies creates an interesting 3D effect, but the giant literal images of the leaves are too much. Why can't they get a decent artist to create a much more sophisticated graphic. This will look tired in no time.

Poor 401 commuters will have to see this thing every day.

I honestly am baffled as to how this made it so far past the drawing board. This trend of using balconies to make buildings stand out is becoming such a cop out too

A cop out because they should be paying attention to more than just the balconies? Here's hoping they do. I'd say that rendering doesn't really give enough detail for us to know how they'll be handling the hardware: How much cheap spandrel panel? How well integrated the mullions? They might get those details right (which the development community manages to do on the odd occasion). Otherwise the buildings are standard boxes, meant to control costs and keep prices in range… and while the frit on the balcony guards is gimmicky in this instance, I'm not philosophically opposed to applying a great deal of the expression via the balconies. Every element of the building, if you want a successful design, is integral to the final look.

Wow... I just realized from the first rendering that Concord is planning on flooding the 401 and turning it into an artificial lake. Sounds controversial.
