100 Huntley St

Don't touch it. There is a better chance of it being ruined, than not.

Rogers entered into an heritage easement, so they can't touch 333 Bloor East.

I think I would have to echo adma's "why", however this thread does give me the opportunity to lament the demolition of the elegant little building on the east side of Mt. Pleasant, which was apparently Confederation Life's employee cafeteria. For some reason, it always reminded me of something rather Scandinavian (Aalto?):

Well, why not; it was our knockoff of the Saarinens' Kleinhans in Buffalo

Good call! What made the "cafeteria" building so exceptional was its contextuality, using the pie-shaped lot to its advantage, presenting a domestic-scaled frontage on Huntley which lined up with the Victorians to the south, while following the sweep of Mt. Pleasant with terraced gardens to the west (the brickwork was also beautifully done).

It was also covered by the historic listing for 333 Bloor but a deal was probably struck to let it go in exchange for a heritage easement agreement on the main building when 1 Mt. Pleasant expanded northerly.

Keep in mind, too, that it's historically important in post-Confederation-Life terms (here's the hint--the address: 100 Huntley Street)
