If they elect a shadow-mayor then it will be unconstitutional and a gross violation of our democratic rights.

Considering that municipalities aren't mentioned in the constitution and exist only at the pleasure of the province, not really...

If a fixed link to the island airport is constructed, that would be the icing on the cake.

Having only taken Porter a couple of times, I still don't understand this need for a bridge. What is it that regular Porter flyers get from a bridge? Check in closer to the planes? Five minutes extra coffee time? Why is this so important to Porter flyers (except as a symbol)?

adma:

Given the ominously negative gravity attached to a Ford mayoralty, I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see him assassinated.

First, that's a rather terrible thing to say; second, those who are opposed to him aren't likely to be gun owners/users. Quite frankly, given the "socialist" rhethoric thrown around, you're are more likely to see a left leaning mayor being the victim than anything.

Who's sorry now? I'll bet Royson James (in The Star) is sorry for writing all those nasty things about Miller.

Be careful what you wish for, Royson.

They have a lot of problems with the ferry in winter ice or high winds. A bridge would be a problem for boat traffic but there should have been a short pedestrian tunnel built years ago.

I don't really see any problem with a tunnel, though - FISCAL CONSERVATIVE POWER ACTIVATE! - I don't think it should be paid for with public money.

If Porter can't afford to pay for it themselves, it shouldn't be built.
