More Lost Toronto in colour

Chrysler Royal Monaco? My parents had a Silver 1977 when I was 16. Having been in Canada for only 2 years at the time I though it was very cool.

78 NewYorker Brougham, last year full sized Chrysler, last year for a B block engine in a car, first year lockup 727.

Those are probably the top colours, but red/burgundy is fairly popular, and dark blue after that. But I agree on the larger variety statement for the 70s. Green cars seem to have almost completely faded away, other than the odd British Racing Green Mini.

If anything, some of these 70s-type colours *might* have mildly come back in the mid-90s, around the time car companies were baiting Gen Xers with stuff like the Neon (or for that matter, the original New Beetle)

Speaking about 1970's cars (from http://electro.aminus3.com/image/2007-07-28.html):

Where the present Chinatown Centre is located.

Awesome, thanks. I wish they had kept this instead of that seedy Super8. I've spent nuff time in this mall.. well, til the recent crackdown on counterfeit goods anyway lol

Good 1977 Comparison pictures-I really liked these...

Charioteer: I always like comparison pictures like these...I noticed as examples the
Cadillac with the NJ straw license plates with a G suffix - a 1976 issue - in the Niagara
Falls picture and the white Chevrolet Nova or Buick Skylark with the Ontario Hydro
curved window building in the background...and that Taxi with the green and orange
"sherbet" colors looks like a Plymouth Fury to me...those colors were "absolutely
Toronto" to me...

Offered to the City for a dollar in the early 70's in exchange for extra height on Wood Street, and turned down......

That's an even bigger shame. Wow.
