Here's another:
Further to our recent discussion about the post-war "de-cornicing" of Victorian buildings, here's the SW corner of Front and Scott without its cornices on both its top and second floor. Architecturally, it was a very skillful building with its use of paired windows within the larger rhythm of pilasters.

Peeking out behind many of the older Scott Street pics is the rear of the Great Western Railway Station (which later became the Grand Trunk Station, and finally a Fruit Market). Burnt down in 1952.

Looks like the old building on the left is the ruins of the Toronto Canoe Club, shown below in 1906:

And, I must point out my favourite, still-standing structure, The Toronto Harbour Commission Building (THCB), at the far right of this view.
In 1919 it was still at the water's edge:

Given that the Harbour Commission building is dated 1917, I highly doubt the former photo is dated 1914. And it's even less likely that the *latter* photo is c1930, as the TCC/Argonaut aren't yet ruinous. (Furthermore, by 1930 the landfill was basically complete, and the Terminal Warehouse would be off to the left.)

AGREED! Your date corrections are quite accurate, thanks.
The archive supplied date of 1914 is certainly mistaken.

Love your collection of photos of that old station, charioteer.
This photo nicely indicates the location of that historic Great Western Railway station.
It was situated immediately south of the present Sony Centre.
This is a 1925 view from the top of the new Union Station.
