Is it not fair that we have to pay for a monthly or weekly pass and not be able to use it when we need it because TTC decided to go on strike ? Isn't this unfair ? Is there anything that can be done about it ... I'm just wondering what other people out there think about this issue...

Talk about a confusing poll...

Yes this is unfair
No

So the options are:
- Yes, demanding a partial refund for a Metropass is unfair.
- No, I don't demand a refund.

The Mayor and TTC have already agreed to give out refunds once the strike is over.

IBTL?

My opponent goes too far! My other opponent doesn't go too far enough!

They gave partial refunds in that last weekend wildcat IIRC, so keep calm and carry on...

Incorrect. From May 2006 City Newsletter:

TTC to compensate riders for this week’s wildcat strike
You may be eligible for a $4 refund from the TTC for the May 29 service disruption.
Between June 5 and 18, May Metropass holders can receive the refund when they present their May Metropass, TTCWeeklyPass (Week 22) or GTAPass (Week 22) at a TTC subway collector booth. This refund amount will be available for all May adult, senior and student passes.
For more information, please visit www.ttc.ca.

I would assume the refund this time around will be around $8

According to Adam Giambrone's facebook status, the Metropass rebate scheme will be announced at 11am today to compensate riders for the lost days on their passes.

Here's the news release. I posted it to the strike thread.

Unfortunately, the TTC cannot refund customers who paid by cash, ticket or token on April 25th.
