Looks like a complicated below-grade build.

I really wish that hydro substation could have a nice looking structure built over top of it.

Could be a great opportunity for some Section 37 funding for an art installation piece.

Great idea! I'd take that over a lighting feature.

I'd love to see it buried and have a piazza with some cafes/restos built atop.

Looks like they plan on getting rid of the substation and rebuilding a new one on bremner next to the roundhouse.

Apparently the whole mess is obsolete and they know its on valuable land so proposals are flying around

Yeah, we have a thread on this subject...there is no mention that they will eliminate the Windsor Station.

the second sentence in the report is "The station will help Toronto Hydro replace obsolete equipment at Windsor Station and will increase reliability and supply in Toronto's ever-growing City centre" doesnt this imply they plan to phase out and eventually demolish the windsor station??? I guess i should stay on topic either way

Once the first phase of Bremner Station comes online in 2013, Toronto Hydro intends to begin the modernization of Windsor Station, not its decommission.

Please continue all discussion of the Bremner Station in its thread, here.
