ULI Tour de Toronto 2015

ULI's Tour de Toronto 2015 will pass by many recent, ongoing, and future projects that have been, are, and will be contributing to the swiftest transformation this city has ever seen. Intensification of Toronto land, fuelled by the demand for more housing, work places, and a better public realm, and focused on the central city by Greenbelt legislation that inhibits further suburban sprawl, is also mandated by Ontario's Places to Grow Act.

As you cycle the route, or as you remember the ride afterwards, you may have questions about some of the new buildings, construction sites, or notices of application lining our streets. This post includes links to UrbanToronto's resources about those developments. Choosing a hyperlinked development name will take you to our dataBase file for the site. It includes quickly accessible renderings and facts about the project. Choosing 'Thread' will take you to where the development is being discussed on UrbanToronto. Some hyperlinks which are missing now will be added soon.

Aren't these tours rather dull? Being an urbangeek, I prefer the design & construction phase, so the finished project is kind of an afterthought for me. I'm the same way with my other obsession: car design: by the time the car hits the dealer lots, I'm bored and dreaming about the next generation model.

Also, I'd be tempted to make some rather blunt remarks about the dreary sameness of most of these developments.
