We don't need a new thread for every mayoral candidate (particularly one who isn't favoured to win the election). Election talk is already fractured over too many threads.
If it becomes evident that Doug will win, I'll re-open the thread.

That's would be my hope, but anything is possible.
As an long-time fan of soap-operas, this strikes me as a Retcon (or "Reset" as it is more commonly known). It is a common device used by the writers to reset situations, continuity be damned. Regardless of Rob Ford's health (and I suspect something is probably up), you can bet your boots Doug is doing that here. With what success, I don't know yet. But 15% would be great.
