Next generation water park and event complex planned for Greater Toronto Area....http://www.marblelive.com/
The all-season, indoor/outdoor water park will bring significant employment opportunities to the GTA during the development stages of its creation. Once fully operational, the attraction will employ 230 full-time personnel and expects to attract over half a million visitors within its first year of operation

no, this would never fly there. There are very elaborate waterfront Toronto plans that they won't simply throw out for some theme park. Its either Exhibition or woodbine if its in Toronto.

From the article:

The site of the massive complex is still undetermined, but has been narrowed to the three locations and developers of the MarbleLive project say they're in talks with officials in Mississauga and Toronto.

They say they're looking for a location that offers the easiest access for tourists as well as finding an ideal site for local residents.

"We're trying to build a crown jewel so the location really matters," said Toronto entrepreneur John Barrack, a managing partner of MarbleLive.

Woodbine or somewhere in Mississauga sounds about right.

The video makes it appear it's on the coast of Spain or something with all the palm trees. Not very realistic. Why is it called MarbleLive? I don't get that. It has nothing to do with a water park.

Seems like it's backed by a media company called marble media.

File this under: not going to
Happen.

Ontario Place would be perfect for this.
It and the CNE were looked at as far back as the 70's for this type of venue as well a scale down Wonderland that could be use 365 days a year. None of the plans every got off the ground,

Here's a list of reasons why this project will never get off the ground.
1) Press materials say the project will be 100,000 square feet in total size, including a wave pool, slides and retail nodes. The pool at Wild Water Kingdom is 20k square feet in and of itself
2) $60M for a covered, retractable.... mmkk?
3) Developers have no development experience or amusement park experience
4) There's no physical site (which could cost at least $20M in and of itself)
5) There's an air of looking for government handouts, freeland - "in talks with government" - no thank you.

Agreed. My first reaction was also "$60 million is not going to buy much" and then the video demonstrated that the plans do not look that elaborate (and yes, that retractable roof may be the first to go as a result of the "cheapening"). This appears to be a waterpark on the cheap and not all that ambitious.
