In the spirit of Brewster's Scarborough-then-and-now thread, I've decided to make a '905' version. The 'then' pics are only from the early 90s instead of the 50s, 60s, and 70s and are poor quality video stills, but I think you'll still like the comparisons.

Here are some from Mississauga.

Mississauga City Centre viewed from City Hall, 1991 and 2013:

Looking east across Tayside Cres. It was hard to find the location where I filmed this!

More to come!

Great collection! Looking forward to your York region comparisons as I share a propinquity with it more so than Peel.

York Region:

Markham Rd. and Steeles Ave. looking north. Note the marker pole in both pics. I didn't expect it to still be there today:

P&D17.jpg

Corner of Woodbine Ave. and 16th Ave., looking east. Three of the pine trees have been preserved:

P&D18.jpg

Dufferin St. looking north towards where Hwy. 407-ETR is today:

P&D19.jpg

Looking south to the under-construction Hwys. 400 and 407 interchange from inside the work zone in 1992 (when 400 was detoured for several years during the construction) and from Hwy. 7 in 2011:

Looking east along the (stagnant) Hwy. 407 construction zone with one completed overpass in 1992, and the complete highway in 2011:

Thanks for these pics! The first set of 91's from the Heartland area make me so nostalgic. My family was the first to move to Second Line W, North of Britannia (now Silken Laumann Way) before 91 and the memories I have of walking through the forest just North of Britannia, where Mavis Road now cuts through, are still fresh in my mind. These pics bring back so many good memories. It's a shame that forest was cut down. There was a neat pond with fish and turtles in it, and many treehouses.

These are great! Regarding the "poor quality video stills", I actually think it totally encapsulates the 90's feel perfectly.

^ Unfortunately, the captured stills are a lot worse than even the initial video capture. I don't know why so much quality is lost when converting analog to digital.

And thanks for the replies. I was wondering why this thread was getting so little responses.

TF: Amazing comparison pictures here - with nothing more then 25 years old!

This shows how much Toronto's outer suburban areas have grown - in some cases to be quite established...
