The full name is The Renaissance Condominiums at the Neighbourhoods of Oak Park.

This is the corresponding application. http://www.oakville.ca/business/6870.html

It would have ground floor retail and stacked towns at the back, and be located on the South Side of Oak Park between Sawgrass and Taunton.http://goo.gl/maps/IScBa

I came in here to ask the same (sorta) question....what is with all of the 4 storey buildings in Oakville? Is there something in their bylaws/OP that makes that the optimum/desired height of buildings in the Town of Oakville?

Most of Downtown Oakville has a 4 storey height limit, this one is in Uptown though, and technically I guess you could call it 5 storeys since there are two 2 units with floors at the 5th storey. This one might have been able to go higher, but maybe land is cheap enough that it's not worth the additional construction costs of going higher?

I agree some of the 4 storey ones are tacky, but others look like they could turn out well like Trafalgar Oaks and West Harbour (and maybe 175 Lakeshore and 73 Stewart).
