It seems 50% of the time I ride the Yonge Street line north at 5:30-6:00pm a passenger assistance delay occurs. Has anyone seen any detailed data on how many are valid emergencies? Also, how we compare to other cities and their efforts to reduce these incidents?

When this happens I cant help but suspect there is a totally idioic "non-emergency" holding up 10,000 people.

Thats part of the reason why I no longer use the Yonge line for the majority of my commute in the AM/PM. In addition to the delays, it seems like there is always construction at some point on the line forcing trains to crawl along, or just back ups from earlier delays. I now use Don Mills and take the Bloor Line to Spadina Station, and take the streetcar down.
