I heard there's a condo coming to the Holly & Dunfield location here:

Will Freed bring in a Quebec firm to do the architecture?

44 Dunfield Av & 33 Holly St (Compten Management, 2x ?s, Quadrangle)

I can't find a thread for this project but since I found info on the architect involved, perhaps it's time to start one? Looks like two towers are coming based on the arcticle dated 4 May 2012 below:

http://www.globaltoronto.com/develo...+eglinton+say+residents/6442634686/story.html

Compten Management has been sending offers to homeowners in the neighbourhood in an attempt to purchase land.

The company currently owns two nearby apartment buildings at 44 Dunfield ave., and 33 Holly St.

“The letter they received was not written in a very civil way,” said Councillor for Ward 22 Josh Matlow. “I do expect them to treat my residents with civility and respect, and work with them rather than at them.”

Though no plans to develop the area have been presented to the city, a letter sent to residents, states there will be two towers built to the north and south of the homes on Soudan ave.

Read it on Global News: Global Toronto | Developer pressuring home owners near Yonge and Eglinton say residents

More highrises at Yonge/Eglinton.

I used to live on Soudan ave, less than 5 minutes walk to Y/E station, but feels like a complete suburb.

There is. Not a single building though. Several different residential typologies coming together on one site.

Freed does not own the site and a Toronto-based firm is undertaking the design work.

Okay UD, so there were two threads because I didn't realize that you had started a thread right after posting initially in an unrelated thread. The initial post and its response went into a new thread… now all posts are united above in this one thread, and it's a bit of a mish-mash up there. We can get past all of that.

Urbanation reports that Lash Developments are purchasing most of the homes on the next block east @ the NE corner of Lillian & Soudan. Significant changes are in store along Soudan Ave it seems.

I can't help wondering if these applications suddenly all list the architects (even which partner) because City Planning now knows that we're going to call and ask them anyway if they don't include them.

Whether they're just trying to simplify things because of us or not, glad to see the architect listed on all the new applications! That's a little piece of progress.

Good observation... I believe this may have been the result of a bylaw sponsored by Adam Vaughan, IIRC. He was tired of seeing nothing but numbered companies acting as developer and their lawyers on the applications. He wanted the architect to be listed on the planning reports and for them to be identified with the finished product, such as listing their information on a cornerstone. His motion was adopted by council.

Mods need to fix title: 2X 5s + 6s + 24s +32s

5 floors being added to 44 Dunfield Ave & 33 Holly St. 32s added to 44 Dunfield Ave north end. 24s added to the south end of 33 Holly St. 6s to replace 86 - 88 Soudan Ave and parking lot
