Thread: A Condo Unit Under the Gym - Bad idea?

  1. Default A Condo Unit Under the Gym - Bad idea?

    Hi everyone,

I am looking at a place and it is right under the condo gym. Does anyone have experience on this? I am concerned with noise, people dropping weights, the machinery, etc.

    Any insights would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I actually live in a Unit above a (small) gym and am thankful it is not used very much. People DO drop weights but our Management is very aware as several Units hear the noises and when spoken to people stop - they just "never realised". This works OK in a small building but I doubt it would be good in a large one!

Above is ok. Noise from weights dropping shouldn't be too bad if the concrete is thick.
    Below though, I'd be concerned.

    Thank you everyone!

The unit would be below the gym and I decided against it. Too risky for me.
