I do agree to some extent. You can't have it all; house, size, neighborhood, location, amenities, and price. The writer obviously knows this as they purchased a 1,800 sq.ft. in Richmond Hill 4 years ago, probably in the neighborhood of $500k. I don't think they're suffering and their empathy for first-time home-buyers is somewhat of a stretch since they have equity in their Richmond Hill home which no first-time buyer will ever be able to save in that same period of time. In any case, yes, some of the profiled properties on that website are humourous but some of them are certainly very reasonably-priced given where they're located. Much too many times, people focus on the house and not on the land value or any other factor which contributes much more greatly to overall price than the bricks and mortar itself.
