Never mind the cabbie ignoring her (she's probably ignoring him) but she's hitch-hiking by a TTC stop. And, SHE'S HITCH-HIKING! Lol. I haven't seen someone hitch-hiking since the early 90s and that was in the country on our way to the cottage.

She is standing on the south east corner of Yonge and Bloor around 1970. The only girls I see hitch-hiking these day's are "working" girls.

I love how Bay/Bloor is supposed to be one of the busiest intersections in Canada and there aren't any crosswalk lines anywhere. Lol.

Sorry DTowner , I will get around to putting the correct intersections on these photos. This one is actually Yonge and Bloor looking west. Stollery's is still in business.

A great start, brewster!

There's something ephemeral about these shots that I enjoy. They seem to me to be "snapshots" in the true sense of the words.

Exactly Earlscourt_Lad. Originally how I got to know Leonard was through the internet. I was looking for old pictures of Scarborough , and he has a few , and when I stumbled upon his collection I was blown away. I am a total amateur when it comes to photography but I know what looks real and his photos capture a certain time period amazingly well. From the old folks to the kids everybody looked cool back then.

Great shots thecharioteer , Toronto seemed to have a grubby , beat up look about it that I never can get enough of.

Wojeck, a popular CBC-TV series from 1966 to 68 shot a scene here on the DVP.
John Vernon played Dr. Steve Wojeck, a Canadian coroner.

This is probably the 1960s as well - at least the Toronto Telegram still has an advertising billboard (it folded in 1971).
It's so long ago that I'm not sure of the location - Richmond E. near Church?
