I do wonder what the status of Planning aprpoval would be .... it would be quite a case the developer would have to make in order to justify 12 or 14 or 16 storeys residential high density provides "appropriate transition" with easterly abutting single family dwelling as prescribed in the Residential policies in the City's Official Plan

I've driven by the site numerous times and had some questions. It seems that they are no longer building anything on this site, but instead renovating the public housing units (with new doors, windows, interiors etc). I'm assuming there was too much opposition to this one and the developer could not justify the heights. Anyone have any further information on what happened here? In recent weeks, it also seems that work has stopped on renovating the public housing units.

(apologies for bringing this thread back to life, but I really am curious as to what is happening here).

Last I heard is that the owner decided to just renovate the properties, for the time being. I guess this area will remain a dump for a while? Traffic would be insane on Victoria Park if these were to be built. It's already ridiculous. Send an email to Michael Thompson's office if you want more information.

I rarely find Victoria Park traffic "ridiculous" and I travel on in regularily during rush hour.

Isn't it lucky that Toronto Life with a UofT thinktank just named that neighbourhood 6th best in Toronto...

This one is OPUS84 - Luxury Rental Townhomes

http://opus84.com/index.html

Presentation centre is open.

I drive by here everyday and looked up their site. They advertise them as 'luxury rentals' but no prices or availability. They're really treating it as though it's a condo purchase.

Anyone called or gone in yet? I'm tempted to at least call without getting the whole sales pitch for a rental.

EDIT TO ADD: I guess I should have searched a bit more before posting. They have ads all over Kijiji. Some of them say they have availability now. Looks doubtful from my view driving by everyday. They advertise 2 bedrooms plus den for $1800.00/month. 3 bedrooms are $2000. They have a lot of amenities like new stainless appliance, dishwasher, washer/dryer, separate entrance, gas hook up for bar b q. Fenced patios etc. $1800 is a bit pricey though. Might be good for couples or new families.
