I've included a few pictures in this thread that I've never posted here before. I hope to show you the places I've showed you before in brief, and sometimes from a new perspective.
The Places I visited:
We begin in Utrecht, in Febuary. View of the old channel from a friend's appartment.
The Rotterdam Skyline in March, seen from the World Port Centre
Hotel New York, and the WPC behind it.
Utrecht, again from the same point of view. This time, the city was covered with snow for the first time in the winter of '05-'06.
In March, I visited the town of Emden for the first time.
When travelling through Germany, you might run into some odd placenames.
Entering the dark town of Emden...
View from City Hall (pictured above)
An old military base
Germans have a hard time spelling my name correct
Me (left), working hard
In April, I went to the German Alps with friends, for a 3-day break from studying.
That's Lake Constance in the distance.
The town of Lindau
German meadows in the foreground, Austrian mountaintops in the distance
The ski-resort of Oberstdorf
Quite a good environment, if you like hiking.
Alpine views!
The world-famous Schloss Neuschwanstein.
Füssen
Dronten, situated in one of the most recently claimed polders of the Netherlands.
This is a typical residential area outside of the denser populated West of Holland.
It sucks to live in a flat country.
These were taken in May. This is the view of Rotterdam's skyline from the City Planning Department.
I visited Emden again in May. The city looked much more pleasant then!
In June, I went to Bremen, Germany's 10th largest city.
Nice trams!
The Beck's Brewery!
Rotterdam, in the end of June.
Skyscraper reflections
I headed to Germany, Austria and Italy for my weeklong summervacation in July.
This is Munich Central Station
Heading towards the Alps again!
Salzburg, Austria
A typical street in Salzburg
Austria's beautiful.
More in Part II!
