tip from urbanation's twitter:

Cresford purchases 42 Charles St E office building for $14 million. Perhaps BSN 2 or Casa 2 in the making? 13 minutes ago via web

As I predicted, looks like Casa v2.0 is coming to block your views.:D

It's the YMCA building: http://www.urbandb.com/canada/ontario/toronto/ymca-of-greater-toronto/

My prediction: It'll be another aA stunner, but probably not a Casa knockoff. Ask for 55s, get 49s.

Chaz north view buyers just had a heart attack. haha.

Good find UD. This is a great street to build on, being only a block from the Y&B subways. The next properties to go will probably be the old mansions east of the post office, they're in rough shape.

casa 2? meh, i hope it doesn't look similar to casa in design. sssooo much development happening in the yonge and bloor area now! especially on charles, i'm hoping 50-53 stories and maybe 150-180 meters in height

Maybe Cresford should actually finish BSN before they attempt to build something else.

Maybe Cresford should fix their deficiencies at Merchandise Lofts, Quad Lofts, Windermere, NXT1 and Casa before they build something else!

42 Charles East (Cresford, 64s)

Urbanation just posted that Cresford plans to launch a 64 storey condo in early 2011. Current site of YMCA.

That would be awesome!! And I like Cresford, except for bloor street neighbourhood. This could be something good, CASA all over again?? :)

actually, urbanation retweeted the info, which is originally from @InsiderCondos twitter feed this afternoon.....here's the original tweet by InsiderCondos....

Exclusive New Condo will release in February at Yonge and Bloor. 64 Stories high. Stay tuned for more info. Will be a crazy VIP event.

and then a second post...

it's gonna be a big one. 64 stories. Pretty iconic. Cresford is really starting to make a name for itself in downtown condos

Oh. My. Various. Gods![/Apu]

This neighborhood is going TALL! I wonder how this will compare in height to One Bloor and Four Seasons? It should be around the 200m mark, at first glance.

This just made my day.
Now have a international design competition and that would make my month :p

With this we will now truly have two main peaks in our skyline with the help of four seasons and one bloor.

It sounds as though preliminary sales will start in a few weeks. There must be some planning documents floating around somewhere; or is this a case of 'sell first, ask question later'?
