Basement Apartment Floorplan - need your opinion

Hey guys,

I am thinking of converting my loft basement into a self-contained 1 br apartment. It has seperate entrance, and will be sharing washer / dryer in the stairway with upper level loft unit.

Ceiling height: 8.5 ft

Unfortunately, no windows..

Tell me your thoughts.

How could this be legal with no windows?

I dont know...its for my self-use tho...it had fire barrier and fire exit and smoke detector, since its in a loft / condo building.

Where does the separate entrance lead to? Can you implement a new door consisting of 70% glass?

i dont think it's legal if there are no windows, even for self use.

btw, the first image is different than the 3D images ... the kitchen layouts. which is the correct one?

is there a main entry closet?
what is underneath the staircase?
