Appliances and fixtures

I was just wondering if someone can recommend any brand/model for all major appliances.
Is it a good idea to go with one brand for all the appliances or to pick and choose from different brands?

one brand looks more uniformed...but a bit of mix and match is okay.

although whirlpool washers and dryers seem to have issues with the switches.

Kitchenaid is quite good.

i found Sears Kenmore line pretty good ... they are other brands like Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchen Aid, GE, etc.
they seem to take the most reliable model from a manufacturer and have it re-badged.
Consumer Reports also rate them favourably.

Sears employees have been good referrals too since they carry a multitude of manufacturers so there's less bias to any specific brand.

So does it mean that Whirlpool by Kenmore and Whirlpool as Whirlpool are EXACTLY the same with Kenmore being a little less in price.
