Little guys? Small group? Comments like that are disappointing. I assume you also believe that only the little guys have an issue with the island airport. You should preemptively sue the pesky little guys so that they can't get in the way of progress and cost-minimization. I feeling rather...

Although banks have deep pockets, there is a limit to the number of branches they can afford to open in a given area. I welcome this addition. In Cityplace this would be a disaster due to the lack of available retail space, but on Yonge St, we need not worry.

Stockyards, The (30 Weston Rd. @ St. Clair, retail, Trinity, 2s, GreenbergFarrow)

Don't let the gloomy weather and cellphone resolution impact your opinion of the development. Driving East on St Clair, the density and proximity to the street are in sharp contrast to the Home Depot on the south side.

I am opposed to having a casino in Toronto. That being said, if the next provincial premier was willing to direct 50-75% of the casino's profits to fund Toronto subway expansion (within the city), my opposition would be significantly muted.

Presumably the 4-5ft couch can double as a bed if you fancy the fetal position. For something with a tad more support, the dining table should do nicely. If you so happen to entice a lady-friend over for a nightcap, not having sufficient space to cuddle takes care of that problem.

    Runnymede Hospital rebuild

According to the city councillor for that area, the old hospital will be torn down and replaced with a parking lot, instead of green space. Apparently the city feels that the benefit of maintaining the area's green space is not worth the cost of underground parking.

Roads: Montreal reduces city speed limits to 40 km/h

Just because the signs say 50, does not mean that drivers don't push 60. Reducing the limit to 40 will save lives only if cops enforce it. But speeding is not the issue in Montreal, it is drivers cutting off cyclists at intersections when turning. I have seen so many close calls on de...

It's in reference to how First Canadian Place's exterior is holding up.

I am not sure what the correct term is, but it is likely that the elevators service a defined set of floors. The elevators that service only the lower floors may be put into operation earlier, as the elevator shaft does not extend to the roof of the building.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

I strongly despise the trends that have occurred over the past few decades in subway planning. Compare a station like Queen or St. George to stations like St. Clair West or Lawrence West. (Montreal has more glaring examples of how subways should not be built.) It should not have take more...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

Sofitel - Montreal I've stayed at the Sofitel Montreal twice, and it's a nice hotel, but somewhat of a disappointment with a bland exterior. How can a new hotel not have a pool? Regardless, Sofitel is a great hotel chain and would make a great addition. The more competition, the better the...

    Megabus to come to Toronto

    Toronto St. Clair West Transit Improvements | ?m | ?s | TTC

I have a question that was likely answered somewhere in this thread, but i'll ask it again. What is the "life-span" of these tracks? 20 years before they have to be rebuilt? I assume Phase 1 is finished, but the final phase will not be finished for another few years. Therefore, will it...

    Toronto OnePark West | ?m | 13s | Daniels | Core Architects

Well stated. Regent Park will be a dramatically different neighbourhood once it is rebuilt. The previous low income residents were pushed out to the edge of town, and will likely not be able to afford to return. With this shift in the composition of the neighbourhood, it will only be a matter of...
