They seemed to have pushed back construction by a year at some of their condo projects at Scarborough Town Centre. Purchasers were given an ammendement to either agree to a later date or are free to walk away with their deposits.
Wow, I guess Mr. Lamb needs to brush up on simple economics, such as supply and demand. It seems that the "Psychological" low point has not arrived, but I'm reading that as the consumer demand side of the market. How can prices be at the bottom if there are no buyers? This means that prices must...
I still stand behind my views on this cities government, and thus I see nothing wrong with refering to them as CENSORED (the constant lies, increasing of taxes (LTT) and the rush to ban everything from cars to plastic bags is quite CENSORED to me)
Wow, what kind of forum is there where MODERATORS go out and THREATEN users!
I guess there is no room here for real-world thinking!
Anyways, back to the original thread, I find it counterproductive to remove lanes from traffic for use for bicycles, which can only be practically used 6...
At least the hookers will have more room and be safer with the wider sidewalks.
Seriously, this is a stupid idea by Miller and his CENSORED in bringing down the economy of the city!
I'd love to see how livability will improve with 8 LANES of at grade traffic, with expressway traffic levels dividing the city from the lake would improve livability over walking under 2 pillars holding up a highway!?!?
If the Gardiner is to go, the only logicial solution is a BIG DIG...
Your numbers seem to be quite a bit off. During rush hours, it seems to be closer to 35 min from Finch to Union and it will be closer to 45-50 min from Langstaff to Union, Still making Go the better option, (plus there are less bums and thugs on the Go Train :D  )
The problem is availability. I would never buy a condo without a parking spot. I need my car to get around.
What if there are no spots available for rent? (many buildings don't have spots available)
Also, good luck selling the condo without a parking spot, I've seen units sit on the market...
In a down market having a parking spot could even be the difference if you can even sell the unit or not. There are many buyers where there is a couple with one working downtown and the other working in Mississauga or Markham, where they need a car. Your potential pool of buyers is greately...
I hope that is true, but I've also heard that Union Station is at capacity for rush hour and cannot support any more trains during peak periods, when the extra capacity is truly needed!
It won't. That GO Station and Line is beyond capacity. Rush hour trains are standing room only and the parking lot is full to the point that the illegal spaces are also full. I can only imagine how crowded it will be once 40,000 new residents move into the area.
Are you sure you didn't mistake the Toronto Air Canada Centre with an Air Canada Economy Class Jet..
It definately gets more rowdy on an Air Canada Jet than the Air Canada Centre for a Leaf Game..
Honestly, I find Leaf games in ACC BORING! only because the crowd is not into the game!
I wonder if they can incorporate the water slides, Cineshpere and a marina docking slip with the condo.. Opps, wrong city.
Wow, what's next. "The Private Residences at Disney World" :)
There really should be another option.
As Scarborough Town Centre already has the LRT, how about extending the Sheppard Subway North-West to the new Downtown Markham development at Warden - 407. With over 40,000+ new residents in downtown Markham, a subway would be well used.
A great report from Urban Land Institute on the state of the Commercial Real Estate Industry.

Compared to North American cities, Toronto would be up there, only below New York, Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco.
Compared to European Cities, Toronto is a dump!!!
