GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Thanks for contacting Metrolinx. Interesting that they say this work is not happening at West Harbour yet declined to answer the question of what track work will requires 8 days of closures.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Niagara trains will terminate at Aldershot due to unspecified "track work" between Burlington and Niagara Falls September 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26. Does anyone know what this is for? Possibly West Harbour connection?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Thanks. They would definitely need to increase the track speed then. As at top speed of 48km/h (plus acceleration and deceleration) there is no way 8.5km could be covered in 5 minutes. I wonder what is in the works.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The CN switching seemed to be west of West Harbour Station. What about the 8km from James Street to Red Hill Valley?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Took the weekend Niagara train for the first time yesterday. The 30mph zone extending from Bayview Junction to Red Hill Valley Pkwy is very noticeable and seems to add a fair amount of time. There seemed to be some shorter slow zones further along between Beamsville and St. Catherines. Are there...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Just thinking about this, maybe they held off on Harbord construction because Bloor is being closed at various intersections between Avenue and Spadina for reconstruction work.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I was starting to wonder whether the Harbod/Hoskin cycling upgrades bundled with resurfacing and watermains was moving forward this year. Going to bid committee Wednesday. https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.BA93.10

@Northern Light Contract involving $1.5m cycling budget spend is on the bid committee agenda with no specific projects mentioned. Any idea what it's for? https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.BA91.8

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It would appear that the installation of the majority of the Eglinton TOday project is being deferred until next year. Disappointing. August 2024 Pending contractor confirmation, installation is planned to commence between Avenue Road and Chaplin Crescent (within the limits of the Eglinton...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I agree this is very frustrating! If you look at this update posted by Metrolinx this week, it notes that : "The second upgrade recently completed is a new second platform at Guelph Central GO Station The new platform helps expand GO Train service on the Kitchener Line by creating the...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

Phase 2 of RapidTO Jane consultation was scheduled for Q1 2024, then delayed to Spring 2024, now the website has been updated showing consultation delayed to Fall 2024! Really disappointing. In January staff told council they were ready to move forward with the next phase of consultation, so why...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT: Eglinton Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Is this the passageway that was located west of Yonge Street or the one that was directly underneath Yonge Street? I recall there were two accesses from the YE Centre.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Very interesting but unfortunate. Is there a way to remove the speed restriction or is this something non-negotiable imposed by Transport Canada?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

@Northern Light The Eglinton TOday page has been updated with some stakeholder meeting group summaries that include project updates. In the January update there is a grainy presentation slide with an updated map. It appears to show the four lane cross section extended east from Bathurst to...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

All good stuff, but disappointing EglintonTOday did not make it on to the agenda. It has been bumped to early May. I give staff credit for moving forward with converting Jones to a cycle track despite parking loss and negative resident feedback. The upcoming roadwork is the perfect opportunity...
