    Toronto ConneXion | ?m | ?s | North Star | TACT Architecture

They took a long time to put in the underground (which seems well done) and then took a very long time with the units themselves (which seem shoddily constructed with chipboard instead of proper plywood for the structure for example). They had a very small number of workers on the bricks, which...

I am surprised by that. I walk by the site every day and there is no way anyone could move in there. Not all of the cladding is done. The site is an active construction zone with no sidewalk access and mud everywhere. I suspect that will get pushed back by a couple of months.

Work here is progressing even more slowly than I had earlier mentioned. Most exterior brick is now up but the prefab exterior covering isn't fully installed yet. Interior work continuing and of course, no work on teh ground yet due to the work being done. I imagine they are looking at late...

    Toronto 2 Carlton | 251.1m | 73s | Northam | IBI Group

I know from speaking with tenants there that the owners have recently told them that the likelihood of the project proceeding soon is low. With the expansion of the Shoppers Drug Mart, they signed a 10 year lease and it has a very significant buyout clause in it that means it might only be...

More brick going on the buildings. Some interior work starting now too. At this glacial pace, I suspect they are looking at late fall for completion.

PATH Network Expansion (various, various, various)

Why is Toronto General not indicated on the map? It is clearly connected underground to the MARS building's part of the PATH directly to its north.

They have very few people working on the site. Right now they are putting up some of the brick on the outside but at a snail's pace. Most of the windows and doors are in but the roofing isn't done and I really wonder about the quality of these flat roofs given they're all covered in aspenite.

They've got windows in half of the units now and some of the interior work appears to be starting. Interestingly, there appears to be some potential land assembly possibilities to the west of this development, so there is a chance we may see another development close by. The body shop two...

It just seems odd given they spent all the time and money to create a multi-level underground parking garage.

    Toronto ConneXion | ?m | ?s | North Star | TACT Architecture

This has been one of the slowest builds for a small complex I have ever seen. What is also concerning is that they did all the work to create a parking garage and concrete foundations and now they are cheaping out and building the remainder out of low quality wood frame materials. And with a...

    Toronto Wellesley on the Park | 194.15m | 60s | Lanterra | KPMB

The next one in the area will be on the SW corner of Yonge and Grosvenor.

    Toronto 365 Church Condos | 102.1m | 31s | Menkes | Wallman Architects

It looks a lot like Pittman Hall at Ryerson. It's actually an attractive building (sans barb wire fencing that is.)

    Toronto 295 Jarvis Street | 199.4m | 60s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

I hope not. Those two houses are actually nice examples of architecture and have been well-maintained over the years.

Same windows used at Radio City. Let's hope these are properly sealed. There were huge issues with leaks in the building envelope there that cost millions to repair.

How Accessible and Responsive Is Your City Councillor?

Mine is Justin Di Ciano and he is terribly unresponsive. I've waited for months for a response to an email to him to the point where the questions are now irrelevant since the infrastructure work I was asking about was completed.

Ont Gov't building at 880 Bay, at Grosvenor St (ORC, 44s?, WZMH)

Demo has officially started. They've gutted the bottom floor and are working on the second now, including window removal.

    Toronto 2 Carlton | 251.1m | 73s | Northam | IBI Group

Agreed. There are lots of small companies and health providers, not to mention government offices in there. It is one of the few decent options in teh area for these types of businesses, not to mention teh Shoppers and the Bulk Barn. They could may think of having retail on teh ground floor...

    Toronto 2 Carlton | 251.1m | 73s | Northam | IBI Group

This is unfortunate. There are a lot of businesses in the existing building that will need to find new space. They should start requiring a third of the units be retained as business units.

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

Actually, they only have two fare readers stuck on standard gates. I go through there every day. Good to know from others that it will get the gates next year.

    TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

So when does Islington get fare gates? They have two Presto readers right now and it is still where Mississauga Transit drops all of their ridership since the new bus terminal at Kipling isn't in service yet. It is a high usage station and it mystifies me as to why they are not making it a...
