Side note, but it's really nice to see the applicant spell out the reasoning behind this change in such clear and thoughtful way, with just enough planning jargon to get the point across.

Amazing that these houses are still standing! I lived a few doors down from here in 2011, and even then, they were abandoned and derelict.

Looks like work on this hasn't totally stopped.

I can't find the drawings at the moment, but I don't think it's either of those. They had proposed these perforated metal panels up and down the building in strips, IIRC. It was just a cool/unique detail that I was looking forward to seeing. I think most of the original design remains intact...

This feels like a great, on-topic discussion for the GO fleet/equipment thread, just saying! https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/go-transit-fleet-equipment-and-other.25269/

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I'll admit that I may be an outlier here, but as someone with the immense privilege of owning an SFH in a PMTSA, I would be more than happy to see a few 6- to 8-storey apartments plopped up and down my street.

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

I hate to link to BlogTO, but this is so ridiculous I couldn't let it go: https://www.blogto.com/city/2024/03/toronto-neighbourhood-fighting-plan-turn-parking-lot-park/ "Save our parking / preserve our community" 🤢 A friend who sent this to me pointed out that they're doing a reverse Big...

    Bloordale Village

The intention is to keep it 2-way for bikes while reducing cut-through car traffic. Traffic volume is especially bad westbound on Wallace during the evening rush hour, so the intention of the eastbound one-way section was to cut down on that. Agreed on the need for better infrastructure on...

I was involved with this (in an advisory capacity). Please attend the meeting and give feedback! The presentation panels are posted here under the public consultation tab. Lots of info in the PDF above, but here's the summary panel: Highlights include contraflow lanes on Emerson and...

I'm confused. They're installing the metal screens over exposed insulation? Surely there's supposed to be a layer in the middle there to cover the insulation. Are they going to pop the screens off later to add the missing layer and then reinstall?

    Toronto 72 Perth | 53.55m | 16s | Castlepoint Numa | Studio JCI

Make of this what you will, but Woodgreen in their letter of support says that the developer is ready to go as soon as they get permits:

Yikes. Incoming spandrelification? Flipping this over to G+C? I can only imagine the horrors Marlin Spring has in store for us.
