    Toronto Corus Quay | ?m | 8s | Waterfront Toronto | Diamond Schmitt

Let's take a look at this article again in 5 Years I clicked on the article link noted above. It will be very useful to read it again, say in 5 years, when (and if) there is any more development on the East Bayfront.

    Invest Toronto & Build Toronto

Take a look at the "comments" section on the Star website. It seems universal worry about creating two new agencies when one was enough.

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The TWRC has been an irresponsible steward from the first day and this annoucement is just stating that all their previous promises are not funded. But of course they never where. It easy to be popular when you promise things you can't deliver. That has been their game plan. Naturally time...

    East Bayfront: Parkside/Bayside/Dockside neighbourhoods Overview

unimaginative2 and p5 are right on! There is no reason why this precinct cannot become a showcase for both established and newer, young architects. Some smaller buildings would make excellent commissions for emerging talent. Yet, the precinct plan calls for very large blocks. Even the George...

Waterfront: Lake Ontario Park (Field Operations)

Fair enough, but again it may be worth splitting hairs. The Corus Symphony project is also not Waterfront Toronto, but Tedco. George Brown is merely "announced" and uses 100 percent Ontario government money and is not yet a deal approved by the city Council. The massive earthworks at West...

Waterfront: Lake Ontario Park (Field Operations)

Actually, HTo Park has nothing to do with Waterfront Toronto, which is probably why the park exists today. There are no buildings under construction by Waterfront Toronto in either West Donlands or East Bayfront. Only the Spadina Head of Slip is, almost, built. Not bad for 7 years of work and...

    Toronto Waterlink at Pier 27 | 43.89m | 14s | Cityzen | a—A

More Tedco "messing around" A press release was issued by Cityhall this afternoon with great news for bicyclists and pedestrians on the waterfront. Find it below. TORONTO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION media release Toronto – July 17, 2008: TEDCO and Redpath Sugar Agree to...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

A press release was issued by Cityhall this afternoon with great news for bicyclists and pedestrians on the waterfront. Find it below. TORONTO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION media release Toronto – July 17, 2008: TEDCO and Redpath Sugar Agree to Improve Public Realm The Toronto...

    Toronto Waterlink at Pier 27 | 43.89m | 14s | Cityzen | a—A

A new hoarding with a generic rendering of the waterfront has recently be installed on the site. Has the commitment to the Clewes building design changed? Does anyone know?

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

It is nice to see another waterfront announcement, but has anyone noticed that more than $170m has been sitting idle for 5 or 6 years while yet another TWRC project goes undelivered? I suspect that this "new" partial approach is not one of the models in the multi-million dollar studies spent...

    Toronto Corus Quay | ?m | 8s | Waterfront Toronto | Diamond Schmitt

Once again, a whimsical "to be built" rendering, which of course has twice the height allowed in the more restrictive East Bayfront Precinct plan.

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Someone told me that this portion of the site at the west end is zoned a mix of residential and hotel. That is what Fairmont would have done, but if there is a new owner they could always apply to change it all to residential or even office use. I doubt there would be much objection to a change.

    Portlands Energy Centre

Actually, the city approved the plant after getting some concessions about public access and sound dampening. Waterfront Toronto signed-off of the power plant when Robert Fung was chairman. WT never opposed the plant.

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Perhaps this is how it goes: Great-West Life (GWL) is an insurance company that places some of its money in real estate as an investor. GWL also owns a real estate development & asset management company called GWL Realty Advisors (GWLRA). GWLRA does their development work for its own...

Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Are you sure, because Great-West Life (GWL) is the developer. I would imagine that they are going after a bank or an audit firm as a lead tenant. GWL owns their own major complex at Queen & University.

    Leslieville / Studio District

The newbie Film Worker is probably the person behind the ridiculous web site that makes constant false allegations against Filmport. There is no mention in the media or elsewhere that any of the parties that bid on the film studio project are unhappy with the project. The new studio is very...

    Leslieville / Studio District

Sounds like its time for some to bash TEDCO again. There was a peice on filmport on the CBC last night. Seems TEDCO has caused Toronto to have Canada's largest and newest film studio, which will open in May, and has reserved 40 acres of land for the film industry on the waterfront instead of...
