2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Mayoral Race

It seems to me like John Tory and his supporters have been the silent majority.

No wonder they've had so many sign violations, they're just putting them up wherever there's a bit of grass and no homes.

Are you voting strategically for Tory?

I really wanted to vote for Chow as I generally like her and voted for her in the past when I lived in Trinity-Spadina. I was impressed with the early days of her campaign as I would see volunteers chatting up people at TTC stops in the morning. It seemed like a great way to talk to the...

It's been interesting to see almost no attacks directing towards Chow within the last couple months from Ford Nation. In fact, I've seen praise of her from Ford Nation online. They know they need to split the vote between Tory and Chow to slip in for a win.

Somewhere in Scarborough. You can put up as many signs as you want, you still get 1 vote.

    Yup.

I'm not surprised. Anywhere I've seen Ford signs, they've been in multiples. I'm sure there's also a high percentage of numbskulls working on his campaign team too.

2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I'm in Ward 18 and Alex Mazer was the only candidate to personally come to my door (while I was home anyway). Mohammed Uddin did leave us a flyer, which I found funny. There was a point on it that said he was very against drunk driving. We all know who know that was aimed at. Bailao's team left...

Who should be mayor of Toronto in 2014?

For some Ford supporters, it's not about voting for Rob/Doug Ford, it's about voting against the people they don't like in the city. There's a lot of resentment amongst Ford supporters towards union members, special interest groups and people who live downtown. There's this bizarre getting even...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I ride my road bike around Etobicoke a lot and I've noticed most houses with Ford signs have numerous (numerous) signs. Even last week when I was dropping my wife off at the airport, I drove home along Eglinton from the 401 to Scarlett Rd and every public park was littered in dozens of Ford...

2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

The best part of this is Arthur Smitherman's response, This is from a guy who's running under the Ford Nation slate of candidates. He's supposed to be for low/no tax increases, repeal taxes and fees and for smaller government. Meanwhile, he supports taxes and fees for cyclists. I often...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I've always found this claim to be so bizarre. How can you say you need a slate of candidates to get your mandate passed, but also get 98% of your mandate passed anyway? And if 98% of their mandate was achieved, wouldn't your goal for being elected be considered complete? Why run again when...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

So now Doug Ford's trying to smear Tory by claiming he was responsible for Charter Communications bankruptcy. His press conference from today sounds like it was ripped off entirely from this Storify article. It claims Tory was a board member and a member of the audit committee from 2001 to 2009...

2014 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I certainly hope you're right. I live in Ward 18 and commute through most of it on my bike ride to work. I'm pretty disappointed with the high number of Bailao signs around the ward. For the first time in about 10 years I've put a lawn sign (for Mazer). After Cash and Schein won, I figured...

The worst part is that we haven't hit rock bottom yet.

Doug's script sounds like it was written by Simpsons writers.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

You're very right... He is unfortunately the main victim of the Ford's manipulation of this entire campaign. I would imagine this will discourage excellent candidates from running in the future.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

This guy is just an opportunist hoping he hitched his campaign to the right wagon. I thing I don't get about this guy is that he's all over Facebook calling his potential opponents pigs, drunken sailors, terrorists and psychopaths amongst other things. In a campaign, why wouldn't you put your...

What difference does it make? The Ford's don't read the councillor handbook because Doug Sr was a one term MPP.
