Statcan just released their 2022 estimates and have the Toronto CMA alone at 6,685,621. The GTA also includes the Oshawa CMA with 447,079 plus the city of Burlington with 194,175. Total GTA as of July 1st, 2022 = 7,326,875. The GTHA would come in at 8,148,714...

More screens are going on top of the former Forever 21 building (future Rogers flagship), similar to what what was done on top of the Shoppers/former Hard Rock building.

The Hard Rock was supposed to find a new downtown location after Shoppers took over their old one, I thought they might go into the old HMV location (Now Tokyo Smoke), but this space could also work.

What will be finished first, this new screen or Union Station? Place your bets.

Something is going in the former HMV flagship space at Yonge and Dundas. The notice on the window says "New Retail Store".

I'd say it extends at least to Jarvis in the East, and walking from Jarvis to Spadina is 25 minutes. Toronto doesn't at all have "a small urban centre" -- if you also consider how far it extends in the North-South direction, the total built up high-rise core is comparable to Chicago's in size...

Just for the record, the buildings that used to stand on this corner were two and three storeys, not one and two storeys. I find people often downgrade the stature of old buildings like these to make it seem more justifiable to have them be demolished.
