Highway Robbery? Greed? Does anyone else find the price of this listing on 560 Indian Grove a wee bit offensive? Maybe it has something to do with the super-cheap reno. http://www.newworldcanada.com/toronto/Toronto/792807 Does this agent honestly think someone will pay this price...

Heintzman Place (formerly Village By High Park, Junction, Options, 23s, Burka)

Wasn't Crossways built as a rental building? The fact that Heintzman Place will be made up of privately owned condos should make a big difference. The new owners will hopefully take pride in where they live ... and so they should. Welcome to the 'hood!

I agree, I think the building will look elegant too. The choice of brick works for me -- rustic, without looking too fake. It's clear the owner didn't cut corners on materials. My only hope is that all of the white doors are painted (on the top storey and at the back of the building). The white...

Not likely I'm guessing this one is going to score pretty low on the cool factor ...but hopefully higher than Gingerbread and Double Double Pizza. Hopefully I'm proven wrong but that Junction Eatery sign isn't too promising. Cool Hand can relax...

Yes I do. I agree...a building like that would be great. But, I guess there isn't a market for those kinds of properties in this area (yet). Also, maybe a building of this size isn't worth it for a developer...and then there is the problem of getting financing. But back to the car wash...

The Junction: Toronto's Car Wash Capital There is a car wash being proposed for the old McBride Cycle site. If you're concerned about what this means for the neighbourhood and the Dundas St. West retail strip, come to a meeting on September 16th. For more information go here...

How Not To Build A Gingerbread House Where to begin? I don't get this place either. The strangest choice has to be the painted candy-cane security bars in the window. I'm also dreading the mural that has been commissioned.

Bad for the 'hood The Junction is fast becoming the car wash capital of Toronto. A developer wants to turn the old McBride's site into a selve-serve car wash...even though there are two other facilities right around the corner on Keele between Dundas and St. Clair. Read more here...

Gerard Who? While we're on the subject, it would be great to see Gerard Kennedy's new diggs spruced-up a little -- signage or something -- so that it looks a little more occupied and part of the street. What do others think -- a waste of tax-payer money or would it be better for the street?

Channel Zero All Boarded Up Does anyone know what is happening to Channel Zero (north side of Dundas, just west of Cool Hand Of A Girl, before Keele)? They're a great addition to the street. But, for months they've kept their storefront boarded-up. It looks like the construction is over. So...

Economic Downturn I'm curious to know what people think about the economy these days and what effect this might have on our neighbourhood. The McBride Cycle lot remains vacant. New restaurants like The Foundation appear to be on hold. The Health Food store on the south side of Dundas recently...
