    Steve Jobs is Dead

What is everyone's thoughts about his last words. Apparently they were 'O WOW, O WOW, O WOW'. I can only speculate as to what this may mean. Did he see something perhaps that others were unable to see?

    I'm an e-book convert!

May I suggest, for anyone who has never tried it, an option that I feel is even better than ebooks. Audio books I absolutely love them, and you can listen anywhere, especially on your daily commute.

    Gas Prices...

How then can you explain the fact that when oil was $100 the price of gas was $0.99, while now that its $80, the price is $1.22. I dont believe the introduced HST was 22%

    Gas Prices...

That is probably the one one of the many fight back methodologies that has any chance of working. I remember I used to receive all these 'dont buy gas on so and so day', but these never work because it does not dent demand. Even if people mobilize and manage to do it, people will just fill up...

Cons of investing in Florida as a foreign investor

I am very interested in this topic as well. If anyone has any book (or reading/resources) recommendations for someone who is starting out, I'd be most appreciative

    Toronto and the Provincial Election

I, for one, would love to have the ability to vote online. It can be done. If we can pay bills and handle money online then why can we not vote online.

    Toronto and the Provincial Election

I am glad that it was a minority government. I, for one, happen to like the concept of minority governments in general, reason being is that it takes out what I call the 'dictator factor' associated with majority governments. Why do I call it the 'dictator factor'? because in our canadian...

Are Social Media Websites like Facebook and Twitter becoming too powerful?

The other thing is that it seems to be a daily occurrence now that "someone somewhere is getting in trouble for something they said on twitter" Dont people learn?

Are Social Media Websites like Facebook and Twitter becoming too powerful?

I'd say yes, they are becoming too powerfull. Just look at the revolution in Egypt. By their own admission, the people behind it admit it would not have happened if it was not for facebook and twitter. Facebook and twitter are changing the way people communicate and as a result it's almost...

    Gas Prices...

I wish all costco had gas stations associated with them. The ones that do are not very close to where I love so it wouldnt make sense to drive there to fill up

    Gas Prices...

Looks like an investigation has been launched to investigate the oil and gas industry for anti-competitive practice and price manipulation. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/ftc-to-investigate-gasoline-markets-for-potential-price-fixing/2011/06/20/AGn5fLdH_story.html Canadian...

Toronto, raccoon capital of the world

And apparently racoons are protected in this city. If you capture one and want to rid of it, the most you can do is take it 1 km away and release. Yes, just 1 km? How hard will it be for them to come back from that very long trip (sarcasm)?

    Lakeshore Lions Arena nearly Bankrupt

I have an issue with this, because its essentially the same philosophy that we've been seeing more and more of lately. This is the philosophy of "privatize profits, socialize losses". Its got to stop. Why should the public foot the bill when things go wrong, but a few individuals get filthy...

City fed up with uncoordinated utility work

I sometimes wonder if anyone in the city ever completes a cost-benefit analysis for these projects anymore? Its lost on them that the purpose of everything they (the publicly-paid city staff) do should ultimately be for the 'benefit' of the public. If there is no benefit to the public or of the...

Toronto, raccoon capital of the world

A friend of mine has just recently had to re-do a part of his roof because racoons decided to make it their seasonal home. They actually dug a hole in the roof and were able to get in. The bill to fix all this: ~$2000

Gas prices in Toronto are approx $1.29/litre today

    Gas Prices...

I know this is not directly related to the poll, but what do people think about the Costco gas station that is currently trying to expand the number of their pumps. There is an article in the Toronto Star today saying that they've been denied expansion by the city due to the traffice congestion...

    Summit Energy

Noticed that recently Directy energy have been running ads on the radio saying that they don't send door-to-door salespeople. I think its because they've been loosing business to these companies like summit that try to trick people into signing long term contracts and even try switching water...

Death of Clubland (aka: Is Adam Vaughan trying to kill the Club District?)

If there was always residents in the area then why are they just complaining now? I dont recall reading many stories in the late 90's about residents complaining about clubs in the 'club' district. Its called the club district for a reason. Now, I'm not in any way condoning the activities...

Death of Clubland (aka: Is Adam Vaughan trying to kill the Club District?)

Its interesting to note who was there first, the clubs or the residents. If residents moved into an areas that has clubs, they should not turn around and complain that the area -surprise surprise- has clubs. Just like someone who buys a house next to the airport then complains of airplane noise
