Showcase Lofts (Aragon Properties) - Real Estate -

Yeah. I live nearby and watched it go up. Turned out much nicer once they committed to bricking 2/3 of the exterior rather than sticking with the original precast design. Looks like quality workmanship from those Youtube clips. Narrow units, though... I wonder if more developments are moving...

Kartelle Lofts on Queen (at Pape, Kartelle, 4s, ?) (was Film Studio Lofts) COMPLETE

The saga continues. Via BlogTO: Don't expect the shell of the half-finished condo building at Queen and Pape to spring to life any time soon. A lengthy legal battle between a real estate developer and a prominent diet doctor has cast the immediate future of the building, and several others in...

It's tight, but my neighbor gets a motorcycle and full-size sedan in his. I parked a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV in mine last weekend (had to reverse in from the street to avoid a 50-point turn in the garage, mind you).

Update posted on BlogTO today. FTA: Good news may be on the horizon, though. Norma Walton from the Rose and Thistle Group says they've received conditional approval under the New Home Warranties Plan Act to continue work on the site after months of waiting. "We anticipate we'll be starting...

I can now confirm that the soundproofing is way, way better than I expected. I was in my unit a couple of days ago with a friend who purchased an adjacent unit, and while we were in my unit they were cutting floorboards with an electric saw in his. We could hear it, but only faintly. When we...

I walked past there a few days ago and there were lights on inside and what looked to be just one guy wandering around. Maybe they're getting ready to do something...

Given what it looks like now, I'll agree with you. Keep in mind that the unbricked portion at the top will be galvanized metal and I'm told the rooftop patios will have a wood surface when complete (not that you'll be able to see that from the street, mind you). It will complement 53 Colgate...

You can't really tell from the photos, but those are double-stud walls. The assembly is decoupled wooden studs (air gap in between) so noise transmission should be reduced. On a related note, it will be the first time I've lived without upstairs neighbors since 1996. Looking forward to it!

New Condo Inspection - is it worth it?

I used a guy for my first condo purchase and was glad I did. Our place was about 600sq ft and he charged us $100. He picked up on things I would never have looked for, both big and small: - an unfinished/uneven drain under my AC unit which would have allowed condensation to leak all over my...
