Toronto elsewhere...

Commodore Plaza in Coconut Grove, Miami, had a very Yorkville vibe for me, up to and including the POMO crap that somehow manages to look charming through the addition of patios, umbrellas and awnings. They also have a super tacky Canadian Moose - themed bar there for reasons unknown to me.

The Landing Strip in Parkdale strongly reminds me of the Bucharest neighbourhood I grew up in, while St. Jamestown could be at home in any number of ex-communist countries.

Driving on the 401 from West to East on a summer day has always reminded me of LA.

Astoria, Queens and the Danforth is a good one.

Queens NY reminds me quite a bit of Toronto. Both built up largely around the same time and housing stock is a similar mix of SFHs and big apartments. Rather similar ethnic composition too.
