Regarding GO passengers not having to transfer onto the Yonge Subway to get to Queen St... How common is that today? I pretty much always walked from Union to Dundas Square when I worked there and that's twice as far. Although it seems like I enjoy my daily walks during commuting more than most, walking 20-40min a day has been consistently part of my life since Grade 6. Walk and you save yourself a few $, downtown streets/PATH are a nicer environment than the subway, you get some oxygen and it's only about an extra 3-5 min each way.

I would say you are far from alone, as someone who semi-regularly gets caught walking "counter-pedestrian commute direction" at rush hours.

Regarding the front page story, it should be pointed out (again) that the actual square footage of the retail is smaller than the figure stated in the story. That number does not represent leaseable area, which is the number that malls use. So it cannot be compared to the big malls in the city.

On at least two occasions I've seen content I've posted online, end up on local news media, not only with the same content, but the same framing I used as well. Almost as if the "journalist" saw my post, said "yup, that guy knows what he's talking about" and hit the copy/paste button. I'm sure somebody who cared enough and had enough resources could exploit this to get the media to report on topics in a certain way.
