i wonder if there's any relation...
Court heard that in the early morning hours of Canada Day five years ago, residents of an apartment building at 130 St. Joseph’s Dr. heard an altercation in the fourth-floor hallway.

Fourth-floor tenant Shaheen Sherzady was being beaten by two men and dragged through the hallways and stairwell. A shot was heard and police arrived to see two men running from the front of the building.

the pair had spent three weeks planning Sherzady’s murder as part of a drug rip-off scheme, had presented the jurors with strong evidence and more than 130 exhibits. She said the pair planned to take Sherzady to a Brampton address and force him to reveal the location of his drugs and cash before killing him. But the 5-foot-3, 200-pound muscular Sherzady proved too difficult a foe for the co-accused, forcing them to beat him and shoot him.

I Hate The War on Mayor Rob Ford: Naked Pride Parade criminal male and @shelleycarroll update: Facebook has removed the now-infamous picture of City Council leftist Shelley Carroll walking by and pretending not to notice as an adult male exposes his sexual organs to teenage girls while standing in public on the steps of St. Paul's Anglican on Bloor. Apparently nudity violates Facebook's community standards, but not Shelley Carroll's standards, John Tory's standards, Gay Pride's standards, Toronto Police Services' standards, Patrick Brown's standards, or anyone else who was fully aware of naked men exposing their organs to underage girls and boys on the streets during last weekend's events.

I give Neil Flagg credit, since it seems he can make lemonade with pretty much whatever life gives him. In this case, he posts a dick pick on Facebook, and it's somehow still the fault of all of his enemies when Facebook takes it down.

I also give myself credit for reporting the photo in the first place.

it looks like the government may have tried to deport sharame sherzady...
[2] This is an application for judicial review pursuant to subsection 72(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act[1] (IRPA) of the decision of a PRRA officer which, on January 31, 2004, dismissed the Applicant's PRRA application under section 97 of IRPA, determining that the Applicant would not be subject to risk of torture, risk to life or risk of cruel and unusual treatment if returned to Iran.

BACKGROUND

[3] The Applicant, Sharame Sherzady, was born in Iran and is a citizen of that country. He came to Canada on October 9, 1987 with his mother and brothers. He was landed in Canada on June 4, 1993 under the Refugee Backlog Program.

[4] He was ordered deported from Canada on July 22, 2002 on the basis of criminal convictions registered in November 2001 for unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance (12 oz. of cocaine).

He received a three year sentence and was released on parole in November 2003. He has a prior conviction from April 1999 for possession of property obtained by crime of a value exceeding five thousand dollars.

Here's what can be understood from that:

- He arrived in Canada as a refugee
- He committed several crimes
- As a result, the government tried to deport him
- The government had a pre-removal risk assessment hearing - this is a step taken immediately before deporting someone, essentially to make sure that Canada does not deport people to near-death or torture situations
- He lost the hearing and therefore the government was able to deport him, except...
- He applied for judicial review. The linked decision is a judicial review of the PRRA hearing (basically an appeal of that hearing). He also lost the judicial review/appeal.

Based on this decision, he should have been deported in 2005, when the judicial review decision came out. Not sure why that did not occur. Could be a different individual with the same name.

IANAL, but my understanding of this is that Sherzady was asking for a review of a deportation order against him. The review was denied. Presumably something else happened because he doesn't seem to have been deported.

The thing to note in this is the "criminal convictions registered in November 2001 for unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance (12 oz. of cocaine)". That document is from April 2005. In July 2005, Sherzady was scooped up by the RCMP for trafficking cocaine. In a lucky break for him. all charges were dropped because the 5 RCMP officers had all gone on indefinite sick leave as part of a dispute with their supervisor.

For people who profess to be so righteously outraged about nudity, BlogWrath sure does post a lot of dick pictures just to make sure you, er, get the point.

so, i was trying to see if i could find out who the person that jimmi t says is lisi's cousin, actually is... and in the process found this...
According to police documents, Frank Malfara's son Bruno is a cousin of Lisi, and Lisi stated he worked there as a mechanic when he was arrested for marijuana possession in 2009.

A recent FBI case, that had ties to the Tonawanda area, saw two Toronto men convicted of conspiracy, after FBI agents, posing as mobsters, persuaded them to smuggle cocaine into the US.

While secretly videotaping them, agents discussed with Bruno Malfara, 28, and Emilio C. Garibaldi, 34, what kind of crimes might be executed for profit. After several plans were discussed, the FBI hired the men to smuggle 100 pounds of cocaine into the US for $12,000 in compensation.

Garibaldi and Malfala face more than 15 years in federal prison.

Family members said the men would never have committed a crime if the FBI hadn’t set them up. But US Attorney William Hochul, Jr. told the News that, although the FBI proposed smuggling cocaine, the men had suggested hijacking a truck, and other violent crimes.

"They were passing themselves off as wise guys and said they has six ‘bad guys’ which we took to mean guys with prison records." said Mr. Hochul.

Dixon City Bloods leader sentenced to 12 years
A leader of the Dixon City Bloods was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison while a courier received six years for gun trafficking and gang crimes.
[...]
“Abdullahi was its leader. They referred to him as H.N.I.C. (Head N---- in Canada). He planned much of its activities, the buying and selling of firearms,” Trafford said, adding Abdullahi deserved a longer sentence because he possessed five guns and conspired to traffic guns.

Warsame, while not a gang member, was a courier and custodian of weapons. She was an aide to Mohamed Siad, one of the two gang members who tried to sell the infamous Ford crack video, court heard.

Warsame illegally transferred a restricted or prohibited firearm — a revolver, which was found between her mattress and box spring on April 25, 2013.

Lawyers for Abdullahi and Warsame said they will appeal the sentences because they are excessive for two first-time offenders with law-abiding, supportive families.
