great to see the activity on site. Anyone who purchased this was informed of the expected occupancy date? I remember reading winter 2010 a while back but not sure if that still applies.
^ That's great news. Thanks for the update.
15,000 sq. ft will be huge for a neighbourhood branch. Also, I wonder how they will design the site plan to provide for that north-south access. This access may open up Albert Campbell Square to the south.
Construction so far has been consistent to what the original rendering showed.
Hey FirstTimeCondoBuyer, future neighbour! I noticed the red bricks too. It was a nice detail that I thought matched well with the other elements. I don't know its painted pre-cast bricks or actual bricks though...
I think my comment was misunderstood. I understand there aren't as many threads on projects outside of the downtown core (compared to downtown), and I wanted to throw my support that there are people who care and want to find more information on these projects. I hope that in time, more people...
UrbanToronto not having enough threads/discussions on the 'suburbs' of Toronto (which in itself have different meanings to different people) is a valid point. I like to read about developments that are happening outside of the downtown core of Toronto, regardless of negative comments on such...
The area around the windows currently white will be red based on the renderings. I've grown attached to the purple and white combo, and am not sure if the red will be a good combo.
I prefer the new design as well. I thought the TV screens (though nice as they were) doesn't necessarily add to the overall ambient feel of the NYCC area.
Most importantly however, I think its more important to expect whether or not the little open concrete space will be used by the public...
Its good news that Sorbara is finally pushing this. I found this project a bit odd at first considering its across from industrial uses, but once I got over that, this residential building will be a nice fit. Its never too noisy and conveniently located close to King and Spadina.
^ That's an amazing photo Caltrane!
I think the slant is getting more pronounced. Whenever I see it from Union Station looking northwest, creeping up between RBC and Simcoe, I always think its going to fall over!
drove by yesterday and noticed two of the townhome units have windows installed. Also, it looked like the north and south tower are up to the 5th? floor.
