    Toronto HighPark Condominiums | ?m | 14s | Daniels | Diamond Schmitt

I was at the community meeting on June 14 with Daniels and they plan to submit the proposal to the city in July. A few notes on the project. Architect is Diamond and Schmitt! 14 storey tower on Bloor, 6 storey brick podium with retail at grade, glass tower on top 6 storey stacked townhouse...

244 High Park Avenue - Committee of Adjustment Hearing The stately home located at 244 High Park Avenue was built in 1910. It has large principal rooms, and retains many of its original interior features, as well as sunny bay windows, solid bricks, and even a slate roof. Recently...

    Toronto Printing Factory Lofts | ?m | 8s | Averton | Montgomery Sisam

The laws about living/working on a construction site are very sketchy. I worked in an office in the Toy Factory Lofts during the conversion. In 2 years we had a forks from a bobcat come through a wall, bricks breaking through windows, a jackhammer came up through the floor and hit a desk...

Heintzman Place (formerly Village By High Park, Junction, Options, 23s, Burka)

I live in the Junction and work in Liberty Village, I guess old industrial land turned new again is wearing off on me. I always feel new development next to ionic symbols of the past keeps us connected to history and without history we have no soul. That’s what’s so great about the...

Heintzman Place (formerly Village By High Park, Junction, Options, 23s, Burka)

I like the look of the silos, I’m sure the new buildings will block them but it gives a nice industrial feel in the Junction and a tie back to the rail yards.

    Runnymede Hospital rebuild

Nice pictures! This project is a nice improvement to the Junction but more from an employment and service aspect than an architectural. Hopefully this development (and the proposed retirement home at 3385 Dundas) will spur some nice conversion of the buildings on Dundas to doctor and physio...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

I had a good conversation with one of the TTC project managers at the Jane LRT meeting last night. I asked if routing to Dundas West station was ever considered. He explained the early feasibility studies reviewed routes to Dundas West but all had major problems. Weston Road, Weston rail...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

A poster on The Junction neighbourhood thread threw out an idea to run the Jane LRT though the Junction and down to Dundas West. Anybody have thoughts on the feasibility of this? At the St.Clair/Dundas Street intersection with Jane turn east, follow the tracks through the Junction rail...

    The Junction

Does anyone know what is going in the old Hasty Market? They have building permits for a restaurant and somebody is spending allot of money fixing it up.

    The Junction

Getting a slice of the Jane LRT would certainly change the Junction. Most Dundas West proposals however would only have a stop at the Annette/Dupont/Dundas intersection. Interesting thought to run down Jane to St.Clair/Dundas Street and turn left, follow the tracks through the Junction...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

I would like to get thoughts on a regional rail station at Dundas West station? We already have GO, someday a DRL, railpath, Blue 22 and lots of land to build. Even with the existing conditions a Jane LRT termination at Dundas West would connect to the Junction, King Street, Dundas Street...

    TTC: Jane (LRT) RapidTO

A south connection at Dundas West would make more sense and hopefully connect to the DRL. Running down the tacks through Weston would cover allot more people although it’s going to have a fight for space with Blue 22 and GO.

Heintzman Place (Options for Homes) - Real Estate -

UD, I live just south of Dundas and I cant hear the trains at all during the day. When things get quiet at night and the wind in blowing south I can barely hear them but not enough to keep me up. The shunting on the other hand can be a bit loud at times. Benny, construction hasn’t started...

    The Junction

JP, I didn’t notice anybody smoking during the meeting but when it was over people waiting in the bar came out and started. The Foundation sounds great, I hope it’s as good as the one in Vancouver.

    The Junction

The meeting was good but a bit disorganised, more of a meet the neighbours event. Next time we should have a mediator and a few Roberts rules. It was a positive start to reenergising the association and good sign for the Junction. Below are the meeting minutes. Minutes of Meeting...
