Construction has accelerated in recent weeks. They finished the 7th floor in a week.

. This all could have been avoided had the line remained 'below-grade' to Don Mills. I find it funny that the same people that advocated to keep the route on the surface will likely be same group people 'crying foul' if these trees are removed or even relocated.

What an epic fail. The line should of been treated as a regional corridor. There no reason why they couldn't have made the line light metro (grade-separated) from malvern to Mississauga with a branch servicing the airport, but I guess that would have made too much sense. From a broader...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Well I can answer that question..............................The city lacks common sense. Were spending billions of dollars on a subway line that will add NO NEW KM of rapid transit to the city and to make matters worse were going to destroy a perfectly fine grade-separated infrastructure in the...

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Not to mention grade separation at some level crossing. Take for example Morningside Road in Scarborough; it's a major road yet it still crosses the Lakeshore line at grade. If we want trains running every 15 minutes this may pose as a problem when it comes to traffic.

TCHC: West Don Lands Affordable Housing (589 King St E, 2x 4 + 8s, Core Architects)

It would have been nice if they used more bright and vibrant colour in this area. Although the overall design is fine the colours are dull and uninspiring. It almost looks like something I would see in some Russian city.

I may be dreaming but I hope when JOHN TORY WINS common-sense will prevail and perhaps the money used for that cash-pit you call the Scarborough subway extension will be transferred over to Eglinton; that way the line can be fully grade separated. Of course this is all wishful thinking as...

well let's hope so, because the only people I see using that stop are joggers and dog walker, who may want to use the park.

Yes that's the plan. The same technique was used on the Canada Line in Vancouver.

Well as a Planner by profession it was to my understanding that we are to mitigate these planning loop-holes by coming up with creative solutions, not restricting development based on on the fear of setting a precedents. I think Planners should embrace change and find creative solutions to...

I agree. Atlanta, San Fran, LA, Chicago,Dallas, etc.. I hate to say it but Canadian skylines are boaring in general. The truth hurts sometimes

Neptis' Review of Metrolinx's Big Move

The report pretty much regurgitate what we've been saying all along. Eglinton is a regional corridor just by the nature of its length, and therefore any transit line proposed on it should function that way as well. If my memory serves me correct even Metrolinx at one point proposed a light metro...
