Yup, this is one of those cases where I really can't believe the experience we've had (and are still having). I remember stumbling onto the King East thread about a year ago and being a little worried but thinking maybe lessons were learned from it and it wouldn't be the same in Ottawa.
And...
For anyone who is considering purchasing a Lamb Development preconstruction condo,
I just want to warn you in advance of what you’re getting yourself into.
I bought into the Gotham Ottawa three and a half years ago.
After several tentative occupancy delays, we had a firm occupancy date of...
Yeah, maybe it was just one of the first 3D films I saw + the true IMAX screen and crazy sound and that left an impression but whatever the case, it worked really well for me in U2:3D. I'm hoping a 3D blu-ray comes out soon, I'd like to revisit it (I only saw it the one time with two friends)...
Good riddance to the penny. Though I guess I'll have to gather all my pennies at home one day soon and use them all. Still will only get me about a dollar worth of something.
I bought a storage locker in my pre-construction condo in downtown Ottawa for $4000 extra. It's a Brad Lamb project and I was told that the typical locker size is around 4'x6'.
I didn't get a parking lot either and actually added the storage locker on after I purchased my unit, as I realized...
It's not out yet but Toronto is playing the part of post-apocalyptic Japan in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. http://www.moviescene.nl/image.php?img=/ckfinder/userfiles/images/Moviescene/berichten/pacific-rim-set-photo-4-600x450.jpg&h=450&w=600
I am uber-pumped.
Yeah this is kind of frustrating as I came on here mainly to post and discuss a floorplan I was thinking of changing. Oh well. At least here's another post to add to the count ;)
I envy you guys still living in Toronto. I would be at the TIFF Bell Lightbox several times a week if I still lived there.
I have a ton of favourite films but a few off the top of my head:
Dazed and Confused
Pierrot le Fou
Irreversible
Mysterious Skin
Baraka
Alien
The Motorcycle Diaries
2001...
I almost always tip minimum 20% and if the service is very good, I'll go higher. But that comes from years of going out with my parents and feeling embarrassed when they would leave just over 10% tips, sometimes barely 15% for great service.
I wanna go back to Wonderland...last time I was there was in high school for a physics trip which was awesome. But all my friends were born and raised in Toronto and have went so many times that they're sick of it :(
This is really sad but I do think it's pretty uncommon in Toronto and Canada as an overall. That said, I recall visiting my friend for a couple days who lives at the Opus @ Pantages building end of last year and there was a shooting right near Fran's Diner on the day I was leaving.
