Does anyone know if they will be widening the 401 past Regional Road 25 to the new Tremaine Road interchange? It seemed that they were grading for additional lanes under the span over the westbound lanes. I've always thought the sudden collapse down to 3 lanes from 5 at Regional Road 25 made...
I stumbled upon a channel on Youtube with some pretty detailed drone shots of various steps in the construction process. The latest video he posted is from April 13.
Do you have any information on mode share? I didn't notice it in the article.
It's interesting to compare it to other transit agencies which who have seen post-pandemic ridership grow quite slowly, likely due to an increase in people working from home who might otherwise be more likely to use...
There is an express bus route from Borden Station along Ottawa Street that would get people to the Aud lands in a couple minutes, but it only runs every 30 minutes at the moment.
Considering it's not near any low-rise residential, Tek and One Victoria are right beside it, and there aren't many businesses affected (aside from Ziggy's et al who have already vacated the building), it's hard to imagine who would oppose it.
I remember when Tek was announced, it was one going...
It seems to me that the connection to Bolton is lacking. I know it would be difficult and expensive to include an interchange at Hwy 50, but it seems like it would be worthwhile still (kind of like the Hwy 7 interchange on Hwy 400).
Eastbound express lanes were open this morning from James Snow to the 407. Backed up horribly though, as they all merge to a single lane before rejoining the collectors, which were running smoothly. Hopefully they are able to open up more lanes through the 407 interchange shortly, but for now...
It appears that the eastbound express lanes between James Snow and the 407 will be opening soon. Painting is done through the split east. The point where they merge together again still needs to be adjusted and repainted, but I expect that won't happen until the express lanes are actually opened.
That driveway is actually somewhat problematic already. It provides access to both a parking lot for a very busy mountain bike area (the Hydrocut) as well as a local gravel pit and there has already been an accident with a gravel truck and VIA train at that crossing. It would probably warrant a...
Westbound 401 through Cambridge was shifted over to the new lanes on the right under Hespeler Rd a few days ago. Although this means that one of the Hespeler ramps now merges instead of continuing as a new lane, it seems that the overall configuration flows a bit better for now.
Meanwhile, this...
Do you know if it's supposed to be a full interchange? They seem really far along on the south side, but as I recall, there's no sign of corresponding work on the north side.
Metrolinx's business plan for 2WAD service to Kitchener doesn't require a flyover at Silver Junction, it is just beneficial to allow better schedule resiliency. Apparently Metrolinx is still investigating whether they can include the flyover under the existing funded improvements, but hasn't yet...
