and just reaching ground level on the eastern most side of the whole. (view of stewart street in the back)

Great pics:) This is going to be a great hotel! i stayed at the one in new york city. If it's anything like the 60 Thompson it could be a little on the noisy side if the condo is part of the hotel. I found 60 Thompson to be more of a fun party hotel. The place was full of rich under 40 yuppies who like to party. It's like a W hotel only better.

Came across this on www.canadianarchitect.com in a piece on gh3.

"What comes next? Emerging as a three-dimensional continuation of their gridded design at Trinity College, gh3 is currently working on 550 Wellington, a condo project that investigates the use of extensive landscaping along its three streetscapes, where the ground plane will be articulated through a range of high-quality paving materials reflecting the program of the building inside."

I don't really know what it means, but I like the idea of "high-quality" ;)

Some quick shots from around lunch time today. There were a dozen or so guys working today...good to see them on the weekends. I heard the hotel is supposed to be finished for the film festival next year. At this rate I think its going to be a close call.

you make 1983 look like 1943 there....

Is there still a plan in place to rebuild that building onto the corner of Wellington and Bathurst? As 550 Wellington goes up, it gets harder for me to imagine how this will fit into the whole mix.

There appears to be plenty of room for the deco facade of Crangle's between the current 550 Wellington structure and the sidewalk.
