Toronto Lower Simcoe Ramp | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto

I hope they are planning to also finish the stretch from York to Bay

Oh my god, they forgot about doing the north side of Harbour Street. Heads will roll!

Obviously they need to finish the south side first and that is what they are doing; look at the plans and renderings.

I don't know if your response is sarcasm or something else is wrong... But yes, I hope that they finish the North part of the stretch between York and Bay this weekend. They have 3 full days to do that.

You did not say you wanted the north side finished 'this weekend' and on that score you will certainly be out of luck. They need to completely rebuild the road, curbs etc and the sidewalk on the north side. They will open the south side first then shut north side and do it - I suspect it will take at least 3-4 weeks (depending on whether they need to install new pipes/wires etc;) by which time the ramp may be almost finished.

They managed to do just that for the South side from York to Bay and entire 4 lanes from LS to York when they closed the road for a Labour Day weekend. It's too bad if they do use this opportunity to rebuild the rest of the road now while the weather is still good.

They PAVED the south section oh Harbour that weekend, I think, the concrete base and the utilities under it took much longer. The north half of Harbour needs to be completely rebuilt and they seem able to do this kind of work right through to December, though it's doubtless easuer when it's not too cold or wet.

You are clearly being antagonistic in your responses while demonstrating lack of all of information on this topic. If you look just few posts up, you will see that I have provided numerous updates in this thread, and well aware of the situation. I am not going to get into a match with you.

Progress on the Bay/Harbour intersection continues.

This is looking west from the pedestrian bridge, clearly shows there is no work on Harbour between York and Bay this weekend.

The concrete underlay is almost complete. Next set of pictures are of the Bay/Harbour intersection. First pic is from north east looking towards south east corner. Second pic is from south west corner looking towards north east corner. Third pic is from south east corner looking towards the north west corner.

Hope it's not too confusing

From my perch above, I've got the past week laid out so here we go:

Oct 3: Working on the Harbour, digging a trench, doing construction stuff, and making the pretty black pavement all muddy

Oct 6: The party starts. Bay/Harbour shut down, jackhammers at midnight, getting the pavement gone.

The ceremony starts with the customary excavator parade

Followed by the police v. excavator showdown

Then comes the destruction

Still pushing dirt; someone needs to grease the bulldozer (those squeaks were worse than the jackhammer)

Oct 8: Pouring concrete, laying new lines, cutting new lines

When we awake we see the shrunken outline for the new Bay/Harbour

Then begins the all-day pour

And now we cut the new concrete
