Former President Donald Trump's United States of America

She had a CANADIAN passport that included her Canadian place of birth (translation: she was BORN in CANADA). Have you even looked at your own passport to see what is on it?

What does being born in Canada or having a Canadian passport have to do with what I said? Being a Canadian and/or having a Canadian passport doesn't guarantee entry to the U.S.

In honour of International Women's Day...

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy.

"I moved on her like a bitch...when you're a star, they let you do it. Grab them by the pussy, you can do anything."

"Nobody has more respect for women than Donald Trump"

No where does it say on Canadian passports "dual citizen" or that you have another countries' passport.

Hence why border guards often ask if you have another passport or citizenship. Maybe she lied about it?

When the reporting on this issue is so low-information, one can only assume that big pieces are being left out of the story. Remember the Kurdi story and how that evolved once the true facts were known?

Before the American Civil War, Canada was a destination for blacks escaping the United States' southern states. During the Vietnam War, Canada was a destination for draft dodgers. Today, Canada is a destination for Americans who want to escape Trump and his storm-troopers.

"The overall rate of rejection at the border remains tiny, however, and could comfort the millions of Canadians who cross every year. Travellers from Canada turned away at the border represented less than .085 per cent of the 33 million cross-border trips in 2016 – a rate that remained constant to the end of the year through Donald Trump's win in the U.S. election. "

Nuff said.

We get their draft dodgers and the USA gets our doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and other highly-skilled people. Great trade. Net migration between Canada and USA is in their favour. The idea that Canada is the preferred destination is simply not true.

BTW, all those celebs and other morons that claimed they're moving to Canada if Trump wins...hardly any did or will.

Myth. See link.

Increased pay is the main driver of this interest. Philpott said family physicians, pediatricians and psychiatrists can make $100 000 more annually in Canada, on average, compared to the US.

According to data from the Canadian Medical Association, the number of US-trained physicians working in Canada grew less than 3% from 1996 to 2005 (up from 493 to 506), but jumped 42% from 2006 to 2014 (508 to 721).

In the US, thanks to insurance-company loopholes and technicalities, American family physicians aren’t paid up to 30% of the time, whereas under a single-payer system, only about 2% of his billings aren’t covered, explained Dr. Sajad Zalzala, a US-trained family physician who moved to Windsor, Ont. in 2012.

Communicating with insurance companies and filing claims is so bewilderingly bureaucratic, in fact, that while “a family physician in Canada can manage with one or two secretaries, in the US, one doctor could need 10 secretaries,” said recruiter Susan Craig.

Woman confronts White House press secretary Sean Spicer at D.C. Apple store

In the video, Shree Chauhan asks Spicer how it feels to work for “a fascist.”

See link:

A woman has posted video of herself pointedly questioning White House press secretary Sean Spicer while he was out shopping at a local Apple store.

Shree Chauhan has identified herself as the video’s poster to Britain’s Daily Mail. She’s an Indian-American who was born in New York. She put up video of the encounter on Twitter Saturday.

In it, Chauhan asks Spicer how it feels to work for “a fascist” and “what can you tell me about Russia.” Spicer smiles through the encounter and repeatedly says “thank you” to Chauhan. At one point, he tells her, “such a great country that allows you to be here.”

Chauhan says in a blog post that Spicer’s comment was racially motivated.

The White House didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

At one point, Spicer tells Chauhan, “such a great country that allows you to be here.”

Guess Spicer thinks some Americans are more American than other Americans.

Toronto universities see spike in U.S. student applications
At both Ryerson and the University of Toronto, there's been an 80 per cent increase in applications from American students since this time last year.

Trump’s America is seeing its own brain drain as far as international university students are concerned.

Ryerson and the University of Toronto have both seen an 80 per cent increase in applications from American students, the schools told Metro.

As of March 1, U of T has 1,791 U.S. applicants compared to 1,001 at this time in 2016.

There’s also been a spike in applications from England, India, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey at that institution.

At the same time, a separate survey released this week by six higher education associations of 250 U.S. schools found 39 per cent reported a decrease in international applications.

The highest declines were in applications from the Middle East.

Richard Levin, U of T’s executive director of enrolment services and university registrar, said the school recruited in the U.S. long before Donald Trump took office.

But he does think the new administration has played a part in the increase in both American students and those from other countries.

“A lot of people are looking to study in a diverse, tolerant and safe place and Canada and Toronto represent that,” he said.

“I think there’s definitely an element of Canada now being a very attractive destination for some people who previously would have been heading to the U.S and now are looking more seriously at Canada,” he added.

Andrew Farrelly, a 24-year-old recent American graduate of the university, said he’s not surprised by the surge in applications.

“It’s just this general climate of people being afraid of what’s going to happen next,” he said over the phone from the New York City area.

“It’s a distinct possibility that people will continue to be appalled by what’s happening here and look further.”

For some American students already studying in Toronto, recent events have also impacted future plans.

“This administration has made my decision of whether or not to stay in Canada after graduation a lot easier,” said Dan Proctor, a third-year student at U of T originally from Boston.

BTW. International students pay more. From link:

2016-17 Tuition Fees – New Students
Program Domestic International
Year 1 Upper Year Year 1 Upper Year
Computer Science $6,400 $12,090 $41,920 $46,820
Management $6,400 $16,830 $41,920 $51,460
All other programs $6,400 $6,400+ $41,920 $44,020

Oh boy, here comes the reactions.

"This is in the opinion of many an unprecedented judicial overreach."

"This ruling makes us look weak, which, by the way, we no longer are"

"We’re going to fight this terrible ruling. We are going to take our case as far as it needs to go, including right up to the Supreme Court"

It takes a special sort of idiot not to get along with Germany.
